Leonard A. “Len” Bellavia is the founding partner of Bellavia Blatt, PC, and a nationally recognized authority on automotive law. A lifelong New Yorker with deep roots in automotive retail, Len’s family once owned one of the region’s largest dealer groups. He has represented thousands of dealerships … nationwide in litigation, regulatory matters, and buy–sell transactions. He has also negotiated the sale of hundreds of dealerships. Over the course of four decades, Len has led high-impact matters that have shaped the modern auto retail industry. He served as co-lead counsel in the Chrysler bankruptcy proceedings and brought mass actions against TrueCar under the Lanham Act. He also launched class-action claims related to the CDK and Reynolds & Reynolds DMS antitrust issues. Len is the legal correspondent for CBT News, the auto industry’s premier media outlet, where he regularly briefs the industry on topical legal and regulatory issues. Len is also a workshop presenter at the NADA Annual Convention and has co-presented webinars with the NADA President. He was a founding Board member of the National Association of Dealer Counsel and is Chair of the Franchise Law Section of the New York State Bar. Most recently, Len organized and launched the largest national dealer class action lawsuit, which was settled for $129.5 Million, and is widely regarded as one of the preeminent attorneys in the automobile industry.
